First Track Meet

Our first Track meet of the 2008 season is this Saturday March 29th.
Please have the kids there by 8am at Bolton High School. We will have uniforms there ready for them.
Also we will be hosting concessions and would appreciate all the help we can get. Please try to get over to the concession stand in between your child's events to lend a hand.
Also please remember to keep your child hydrated in advance as well as during the day. The more water you can get into them between now and Saturday morning the better prepared they will be for running.

The votes are in for your 2008 coaches and the open Booster club VP position, we had several good people put their name in the hat for the position and the board voted in Cortney Wells to fill the remaining term as Vice President. Cortney served as our Events Coordinator last year and will most certainly be a valuable asset in her *new* role at Ellendale.

We also had very good candidates for Head football coaches this year. And the following people have been elected as our 2008 Head Coaches. Check the football website in the coming days for more information on these coaches as well as their assistant coaches. www.ellendalebears.com

The 2008 Board (listed below) will lead our organization this year. All of the board members have children that participate in the Ellendale Bears area and are called upon daily to make decisions that affect not only their own children but your child alike. The decisions and actions guide and shape what the Ellendale area is, what it does, and what it will become. The board & coaches have made a commitment to bring positive change for the Ellendale area.

All of the positions at Ellendale are volunteer. These positions are routinely, every few years, up for re-election and or appointment. The new coaches & board members will certainly change the culture of our organization and we hope that these changes will bring a *new* inspiration to the field.

Remember to check the Ellendale web site often for all the latest news & events for our area. Ellendale will have Cheerleading teams this year.We look forward to a great 2008 season. Sign-ups for Football begins May 1st. Cheerleading sign-ups have already begun and continue through July.

First Track Meet

Our first meet is this Saturday March 29th at Bolton High School.
Kids need to be there by 8am.
We hope to have our uniforms in by Thursday at practice but worst case they will have them to us Friday and we will have them for you Saturday morning.
We will be hosting concessions for this event and we need all the help we can get. If you are a member of Ellendale in any sport and have any time you can spare to help it would be greatly appreciated.
We will begin around 9am and should be done around 1pm.

Practice Cancelled/ Uniforms

Looks like the weather is going to be bad again tonight. We are cancelling practice.
We do need to get the children sized for their uniforms asap in order to have them in by our first meet.
We would like everyone to be at Ellendale Park at 6pm tonight ( Tuesday March 18th).
It should not take long to get your child sized we hope to be done with everyone in about 30 minutes.

Problems with the infoline

We are having issues with our infoline. It is an automated service that works from a phone server.
This morning the weather was checked and it showed that it should be clearing by 11am today so a message was left saying we would have track practice.
As I am sure all of you know the bottom dropped out in Bartlett around 10:15 and shortly after that we decided to cancel practice. At that time the infoline message was changed but for some reason it did not and at this time still has not updated. When either Jessica or I log into the admin interface it plays the new message that Jessica recorded but for some reason which we cannot explain yet the old message left around 9am this morning is still playing when the number is called.
We sincerely apologize for the problems this has caused and are doing everything we can to make sure this doesn't happen again.
We will be sizing kids for track uniforms Tuesday so please try to be at practice.

Cheer sign-ups

We will have our first cheer sign-up Saturday March 15th at Bolton High School Track during our track pratice from 11am-1pm.
Ellendale will be doing non-competive ( JV) cheer this year.
We do not have our total cost yet but we are doing our best to keep it as cheap as possible.
We are still waiting on some figures to come in from the league before we can finalize our budget and fees.

Track Practice cancelled

Looks like the weather is not cooperating with us at all. :-)
That is to be expected this time of the year.
We will be cancelling practice tonight March 6th and Saturday March 8th.
We will resume practice Tuesday March 11th from 5:30-7:30 at Bolton High School Track.

Track Practice is cancelled for Tuesday March 4th due to weather.
It is against league rules to practice track if the weather is below 50 degrees.
